Easy Template for GOTV Door Hanger Labels by Hallie Montoya Tansey

Here’s the problem: You have a spreadsheet containing a list of precincts, their polling places, and the various numbers of doors in each precinct that need to be hit during GOTV. You also have a bunch of door hangers that are not printed with polling places on them.

Seems simple enough. But, you need a different number of labels for each polling place depending on how many doors need to be hit in different precincts.

So the question is, how do you get a mail merge to generate the right number of each label? Because, as you know, labels are expensive and there aren’t always extras just lying around.

That’s why I came up with a template to make this as easy as possible.

If you paste your list of precincts, polling places, and the number of doors you need to hit in each into the first tab of this spreadsheet, it will generate a row for each label you need in the second sheet. You can then do a simple mail merge using the second sheet and print your labels.

Now all you need to do is save this template for your next round of GOTV!
